Emily Sanford Fisher is an energy sector strategist and founder of Enodia Energy, a consulting firm dedicated to advancing an affordable, reliable, and clean energy future for all. Through Enodia, she works with key electricity sector stakeholders at the crossroads of a new energy future, including utilities, industry groups, regulators, and nonprofits. Drawing on broad experience at the state and federal levels and a deep understanding of electricity regulation, she advises clients on wholesale market design, state regulatory policy, utility economics and contracts, environmental law, and transmission policy and expansion.

Emily Fisher’s career reflects sustained leadership across the U.S. power sector. At the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA), she served as Chief Strategy Officer, guiding research, industry strategy, membership, and development efforts to help organizations deploy distributed energy resources while maintaining reliability and managing customer costs. At the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), she held the roles of Executive Vice President, Clean Energy, and General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, overseeing clean energy policy engagement and legal affairs across federal and state regulatory arenas. Her public service background includes work as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State in Bangkok and Bogotá.

Emily Sanford Fisher holds a B.A. in international affairs from The George Washington University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She is admitted to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia, has served in leadership roles within national energy and environmental advisory bodies, and teaches courses on energy and environmental law and the history and regulation of the power grid.
